Visit of Minister Fitzgibbon at our Montérégie wind farm
On Friday, October 6, Kruger Energy’s team welcomed Pierre Fitzgibbon, Quebec’s Minister of Economy, Innovation and Energy, for a tour of our Montérégie wind farm. He had a unique experience, climbing 98 metres to the top of a wind turbine where he could see the spectacular views of Montréal.
During his visit, Fitzgibbon met with Joseph Kruger II, Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer, Jean Roy, Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Kruger Energy, and several members of Kruger Energy’s team. Local elected officials and partners were also present, including the Grand Chief Kahsennenhawe Sky-Deerand representatives of the Mohawk community, owners of the land on which our wind turbines are installed, as well as the mayors of Saint-Michel, Saint-Rémi, Saint-Isidore and the reeve of the RCM. There have been some very interesting discussions about the growing demand for electricity in the context of electrification, energy transition, and decarbonization of the economy.
Kruger Energy specializes in developing and managing green power plants and operates two wind farms in Montérégie with a combined capacity of 125 MW. One of them, the Des Cultures wind farm, is operated in partnership with Kahnawà:ke Sustainable Energies.
