Energy Efficiency Project at our Kruger Packaging Plant in Trois-Rivières
Energy Efficiency Project Cuts Nearly 2,000 Tonnes of GHGs Annually at our Kruger Packaging Plant in Trois-Rivières.
Earlier this fall, our plant in Trois-Rivières completed the installation of a steam box on one of its paper machines that manufactures 100% recycled paperboard. This new equipment optimizes steam usage in the machine, helping to reduce its energy consumption by more than one million m3 of natural gas per year and cutting greenhouse gas emissions by 1,949 tonnes annually.
This initiative was made possible thanks to financial support from Énergir, as part of its energy efficiency program Energy Diagnosis and Implementation, which aims to support businesses in the implementation of energy efficiency measures.
This project will not only boost the Plant’s productivity but also reduce operating costs and improve its environmental footprint. This project is entirely in line with Kruger’s determination to increase its sustainable development initiatives.
